Fabricated Birch Tree at The Deck at Moonshine Flats

Fabricated Birch Tree for The Deck at Moonshine Flats

Fabricated trees are popular options to use as restaurant décor, and we created an amazing fabricated birch tree for The Deck at Moonshine Flats.

San Diego’s downtown Gaslamp Quarter is full of restaurants and bars to visit, but Moonshine Flats has an original feature you don’t often see: a back yard!

This area is known as The Deck, and it’s where you can find our fabricated birch tree – among other features:

The Deck at Moonshine Flats features a casual vibe, delicious smokehouse BBQ menu and fun casual cocktails.

With a more relaxed atmosphere than its hard partying counterpart, The Deck is open 7 days and nights a week and features backyard style games including corn hole, shuffleboard and ping pong.

The Deck is a completely open air venue, with a retractable roof, large tree in the center and iron gates that serve as the front doors.”

The retractable roof allows the San Diego sunshine to light up the space. The fabricated birch tree doesn’t need sun to stay healthy, but it also won’t be damaged by it.

Common concerns about fabricated trees include how well they will survive the elements. This tree features UV Inhibiting (UVI) foliage that won’t fade in the sun.

There’s a lot to take in at The Deck, with fun options at every turn. Board games, a pool table, arcade games, a huge projector, and 16 LED screens give you plenty of choices to enjoy while you’re there.

Of course, we can’t forget about the huge selection of beer and BBQ available as well!

The tree used here is fabricated, which means it is a completely customized creation.

We also create replica birch trees, which feature natural wood trunks and foliage that perfectly mimics the real thing.

Our replica and fabricated birch trees have been used in projects around the world, including malls, art installations, and amusement parks.

Artificial Indoor Trees at New NYC Restaurant Queensyard

Artificial indoor trees from TreeScapes & PlantWorks make a big impact when used as restaurant décor. We’re pleased to have provided a number of trees to famous eateries across the globe, including this recent New York project.

The Hudson Yards development is a multi-use space that invites visitors to “Live, Shop, Work & Dine in New York”. One of the dining options is the British inspired restaurant, bar, and café called Queensyard (also known as “queensyard”).

We created realistic, impactful replica trees to complement the design and décor.

“Creating a comfortable, homelike atmosphere was a fundamental consideration in the restaurant’s concept and design.”

“The genesis of the name itself alludes to D&D’s British origin, where the term “yard” refers to small meeting places, and also refers back to the origin of this site, the rail yard.

Our design reflects those influences — culture, site and history — blending the warm environment of an English country home with a modern aesthetic.”

English Invasion: New Restaurant Brings British Isles to New York City, Restaurant Development & Design magazine

The owners and designers focused on design accents that evoked authenticity: low, hand painted wood ceilings, shelves filled with intriguing British collectables, and trees that feel right out of an English countryside.

Queensyard also features touches of irreverent British flair, like interactive cocktails that double as mini art pieces, quirky flavor combinations, and bathrooms that only play songs by Queen.

There’s even a halibut dish that’s billed as an interpretation of the classic American treat, Rocky Road ice cream! Guests can enjoy formal dining, mixed drinks, or royal tea and scones.

The restaurant features two types of reproduction trees: Replica Acacia trees and Replica Oak. Both are significant in British culture, and prominent throughout the United Kingdom.

Our artisans paired natural wood trunks with handcrafted foliage, made from molds of real Acacia and Oak leaves. These artificial indoor trees will stay green, and never need any watering or trimming.

Faux indoor trees are increasingly popular in restaurants, but Queensyard has a slightly different aesthetic.

Many establishments focus on one statement tree, like the replica Cherry Blossom tree at Okura Sushi, or the replica Mediterranean Olive Tree in the center of CATCH restaurant in Vegas.

Queensyard has opted to place multiple faux Acacia and Oaks throughout the space, giving guests ample opportunities to dine and socialize beneath the trees. They provide a warm, inviting look that’s as memorable as it is beautiful!

Queensyard is part of D&D London, a restaurant and hospitality firm that includes 43 diverse establishments. The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yard are a curated collaboration from world renowned chef Thomas Keller and famed restaurateur and developer Kenneth A. Himmel.

Queensyard was designed by Nancy J. Ruddy, Founding Principal of CetraRuddy, an award-winning global architecture and interior design firm based in New York. The walls feature custom murals by American artist Sarah Moore.

Restaurant Plants: Bobby Flay’s Shark at the Palms

Restaurant plants can add color and life to any eatery. TreeScapes & PlantWorks were pleased to provide replica plants for Bobby Flay’s newest Vegas restaurant, Shark.

The chef’s first new restaurant in five years (and first high end restaurant in fifteen years) had to be spectacular – especially by Las Vegas standards!

The food there is described as “Seafood and Sushi with a Latin beat”, and the name was inspired by existing artwork at Palms Casino Resort:

“Damien Hirst’s controversial shark sculpture in Unknown Bar at the center of the Palms inspired the name. “When I saw the shark, I knew that was going to the name of the restaurant,” he says.

The artwork from British artist Damien Hirst features a 13-foot tiger shark, caught by a fisherman in Australia, and divided into three segments of steel and glass tanks, preserved in formaldehyde.

The bar gets its name from the artwork, dubbed The Unknown (Explored, Explained, Exploded) from 1999.”

Eater Las Vegas

The restaurant design was expertly done by Rockwell Group, who have also led many other iconic hospitality projects. The Shark dining room “was inspired by the open courtyards found in Central and South America”.

Our artificial plants factor prominently throughout the space, but the faux ivy is the most dramatic element:

“A covered outdoor dining terrace feels like a backyard, with fabric awnings on the ceiling and vines growing on back wall.

Black and white cement tiles in a random geometric pattern add a graphic, dynamic feel in contrast to the warmth of the restaurant interior.”

Rockwell Group, Palms Casino & Resort

The ivy stretches along the walls in a natural pattern that makes it seem like it’s really growing inside the restaurant. We also provided additional restaurant plants: replica fishtail palms, traveler’s palms, cropped grass, and fiddle leaf figs.

These plants are on display in front of the entrance, between tables, and in planter boxes throughout. Lights provided by Focus Lighting complete the rich, welcoming design.

2019 was a big year for us and restaurant plants; we provided gorgeous faux floral walls and a replica Mediterranean Olive Tree for CATCH at Aria, also in Las Vegas.

Other restaurant plant projects for us included a stunning replica cherry blossom tree for Okura Sushi in La Quinta, and artificial bougainvillea and succulents for Shaquille’s in Los Angeles.

If you’re seeking restaurant plants, flowers, or trees, we urge you to consider our artificial creations! Our replica and fabricated greenery require minimal maintenance (no watering!), never die or lose color, and won’t trigger any allergy concerns.

Another element to consider is the scent of natural plants and flowers. These smells are often beautiful, but they can compete with the appetizing smells of food offered in your restaurant. It’s the same reason many restauranteurs use unscented candles at their tables.

If you dine at Shark, be sure to stop by the Revolve pop up clothing shop nearby. The Revolve x Palms flower wall is another TreeScapes & PlantWorks creation, and it’s a top selfie spot in the city!

Cherry Blossom Artificial Indoor Tree at Okura Sushi

Decorating with an artificial indoor tree can bring beauty, comfort, and a luxurious experience to your restaurant or business.

One of the most popular options for an artificial indoor tree has to be our life size faux cherry blossom tree!

Okura Sushi recently reopened their La Quinta, California restaurant, and included one of our cherry blossoms in the design.

Okura Robata Grill & Sushi Bar has two locations in California: Laguna Beach, and La Quinta.

The La Quinta restaurant recently moved to a new, larger, spot near the original location. This busy location is in a prominent spot, right in the middle of a busy Coachella Valley intersection.

Owner Jay Lee knew she needed to make a statement when the restaurant reopened, so she called upon Statewide Services Inc. to make her dream into a reality.

We were pleased to work with them and create the perfect tree for this establishment – a dramatic artificial indoor cherry blossom tree.

“Palm Desert-based Statewide Services Inc. did the renovation and design, with Lee’s input every step of the way, turning the interior into a work of art, beginning with the cherry tree in the center of the main dining room.

Okura Sushi was among the most challenging of the restaurant redesigns the company has been involved with, Lua said.

‘This is by far the most unique restaurant of the lot,’ he said.

The details of the design and finishes ‘really took on a shape of a very contemporary L.A./Hollywood vibe’ that doesn’t currently exist in the valley, he said.” –  The Desert Sun

Other décor elements include gold Kriskadecor chains and chandeliers, a “Geisha Angel” mural, a 4-foot-tall bronze Buddha statue, and cherry blossom wallpaper. Our cherry blossom tree is the centerpiece that anchors the room. You can even see it from outside the restaurant – the window in the door gives you a sneak peek at the tree inside!

If you’re seeking unique design features, custom fabricated artificial indoor trees are an ideal choice. They’re handmade to your exact specifications, by talented and innovative artisans.

Office Trees & Plants – Datran Business Center

Office trees & plants are some of the best ways to spruce up a business location. You can use nature to create a calm environment for employees, or add office trees & plants for color and aesthetic.

A common problem with trees & plants for offices is maintenance. Many offices don’t get sufficient natural light, don’t have the time for daily upkeep, or don’t want to deal with different types of plants blooming each season.

There’s also a big risk of employees and customers having allergies. Natural trees and plants produce pollen that many people simply can’t tolerate. The solution? Artificial, replica, and fabricated plants & trees for the office.

That’s the approach that was taken for the Datran Business Center in Miami, Florida. Our team of TreeScapes’ artisans provided preserved palm trees, and replica grass, succulents, ivy, bushes, and ferns for the main lobby area.

Different colors of replica onion grass are arranged in the center, providing a unique base for an abstract sculpture. The grasses are Inherently Fire Retardant (IFR), making them ideal for indoor use.

The escalators are flanked by realistic replica mangrove trees. Mangroves are native to Florida and essential to their ecology, so it’s only appropriate that they were included here.

Replica mangrove bushes were also arranged behind the main columns. The mangroves are made with UltraLeaf-IFR® greenery, our proprietary, commercial-grade, inherently fire retardant replica foliage designed for use indoors.

Other features alongside and behind the escalators include more replica onion grass, replica Boston ferns, and replica aeonium succulents. Preserved palm trees add tropical touches to round out the design.

Our preserved sago palm trees have fabricated trunks, and real natural sago fronds. The fronds have been preserved via our proprietary preservation process, which also makes them inherently fire retardant. They look real because they are real!

Replica potted hanging pothos bushes and pothos garlands are arranged on the tiers of floors above. They have a soft, sprawling look that replicates natural ivy. The mirrored ceilings above reflect all of this greenery, making visitors feel like they’re inside an arboreterum or nature preserve.

If you like these replica mangroves, be sure to see our ADEX award winning “Escultura de Manglar” handcrafted tree sculpture!

The SUSHISAMBA Tree

The SUSHISAMBA Tree has become one of London’s most Instagrammable hotspots – and it was proudly constructed by a team of our talented artisans!

This towering custom-made oak tree sits at the center of the outdoor bar 38 floors above the city of London. This magnificent tree features the eye-catching and extremely distinctive SUSHISAMBA Orange coloring that embellishes its massive trunk, complex branching, broad foliage, and seemingly endless array of twinkling lights.

This iconic restaurant and our team are currently hard at work on a new and even bigger tree that will adorn the new SUSHISAMBA that will soon open in Saudi Arabia.

Here’s how the SUSHISAMBA website describes the London tree:

“Indoor-outdoor elements weave throughout the space, most notably, the structural orange tree on the west terrace. A SUSHISAMBA icon, the tree sculpture reinforces the earth-to-sky motif while being an artwork in itself, reminiscent of great 20th century art and creating dialogue with the street art found throughout the space.”

SUSHISAMBA London City

The rest of London – and the world – has definitely taken notice.

TheHandbook.com published their list of “The 18 Most Instagrammable Festive Restaurants”, and the SUSHISAMBA tree is the favorite backdrop for selfies and group shots:

“You probably feel like you’ve been to SushiSamba even if you never have. The second venue on the list of most Instagrammed places in London, SushiSamba serves sushi and cocktails *almost* as photogenic as the view – well, London from the 38th floor is pretty spectacular.

The fairylit red tree on the terrace is the most popular photo, although the restaurant itself is pretty spectacular, especially at night.”

Hello! magazine has even declared SUSHISAMBA London as “the A-listers’ favourite fusion restaurant“:

“The open terrace-bar, with a magical lit-up tree perched in the middle of the circular bar that has you reaching for your camera phone, and the cool buzzy atmosphere, is also not to be missed…”

Need more convincing? Some think the tree would look right at home on the set of a favorite HBO series…imagine the photo opportunities!

In an article titled “The Most Instagrammable Restaurants in London”, the Evening Standard UK says you should go to SUSHISAMBA “for that giant orange tree that looks like it’s from Game of Thrones”.

Shaquille O'Neal's Restaurant "Shquille's" patio with faux bougainvillea

Faux Bougainvillea & Succulents at Shaquille’s Restaurant

Faux Bougainvillea & Succulents at Shaquille’s

What do faux bougainvillea flowers have in common with basketball? They’re both featured at basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal’s newest restaurant!

Shaquille’s opened in early 2019, and TreeScapes and PlantWorks provided faux bougainvillea flowers, succulents, and ivy.

It’s very easy to identify Shaq’s restaurant at first sight. There’s a bright purple SHAQUILLE’S sign, and a huge set of double doors. They’re tall enough to accommodate Shaq’s considerable (7’1) height.

Our beautiful faux bougainvillea flowers cover the entire wall next to the front doors. You can peek through, but this patio offers guests plenty of privacy as they dine. Inside you can find rows of market lights, which add warmth and ambiance.

“If you enjoy people watching, patio dining along the LA Live promenade is an ideal place. A mesh wall of flowers hides the seating area so you can do so discreetly. The restaurant also offers a place for celebrity guests wanting a bit more privacy.”

Southern Comfort Meets Los Angeles Chic

The decor for this restaurant is especially important, because it addresses two different themes: Los Angeles and the South.

Shaquille’s is right across the street from the Staples Center, and part of the Downtown L.A. Live complex. The area is frequented by NBA players, celebrities, and tons of basketball fans. It’s the ideal location for a huge sports star like Shaq!

This location means that his restaurant has to capture that Southern California, casual glam aesthetic.

The other side, though, is the cuisine and atmosphere. The chefs serve up authentic and elevated Southern cooking. Menu options include comfort food classics like shrimp and grits, baked macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs, and fried green tomatoes.

The designer had to create a space that felt comfortable, cozy, and welcoming – even amidst the hustle and bustle of LA.

Inside Shaq’s LA Restaurant

The inside of Shaquille’s boasts even more of our creations – fake Kentia palms, lillies, and potted plants. Assorted faux succulents add more lush greenery the walls and interior.

Other highlights include a celebrity seating area and a massive, Shaq-sized chair. Look for it when you’re there, because Shaq is known to stop by regularly!

If you’re wondering what to eat, Shaquille’s has some can’t-miss signature dishes. His famous fried chicken, for example, is brined for 48 hours. Be sure to try the classic Shaq Burger, made with American cheese and signature Shaq sauce. There’s even a Kobe burger! It’s made with Kobe beef and named in homage to his former teammate, Kobe Bryant.

Next time you’re in Los Angeles, stop by Shaquille’s! You can enjoy delicious food, and check out what we’ve done there. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
